Kelly Paterson
I am committed to creating a safe space for you to explore, wherever you are on your journey. Alongside qualities of empathy, acceptance, and authenticity, I’ll bring humour and challenge to our interactions. I work with individuals and couples, both face-to-face in Cotham and online. I am a relational, depth‑oriented counsellor trained in humanistic and integrative approaches, drawing on a range of therapeutic ideas tailored to each client’s needs, with the therapeutic relationship at the core. I offer a warm, honest connection, inviting your whole self at your pace. The trust we build will help you explore difficult issues, increase self-awareness and self-compassion, and understand relational patterns, leading to better well-being and connected relationships. Couples work includes all of these qualities and can be more directive when needed. I am NCPS accredited with over 10 years of practice. I work with issues like anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and relationship/family problems, especially helping clients develop a positive self-concept, self-compassion, and healthier relationships. My experience includes working with drug and alcohol issues, supporting young people in a university counselling service, and working with creative professionals, as my background is in the creative industries. In couples therapy, I aim to help you understand your patterns and find a more harmonious, connected way forward. forward.
